DiDi was launched in Melbourne back in 2018 and operates in 28 major cities throughout the country. This includes Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle, Geelong, and the Gold Coast. DiDi is around 10% cheaper than Uber and offers a 50% discount on most rides in major cities for the first month.
You can use both. You could also sign up for Modo for 2 way trips, and cover all your bases. EVO will more than likely be much cheaper. Uber has similar prices as cabs. And more when it rains, snows etc. Basically when you want it its more $$. Problem with EVO is you will have to find a car everyday.
At least taxis don’t super inflate their prices. Uber/Lyft use to show you the base rate and then the added surcharge, but now they don’t. Taxis right now will be cheaper than Uber/Lyft at any time of day or night. Guaranteed. PS they like cash. Cash is king to all cab drivers. Something something taxes.
Minimum fare: $4 ($2.65 less than Uber’s minimum fare in San Diego) Per minute: $.15. Per mile: $1.16. This won’t be the same for every city, but don’t assume that because Uber is more ubiquitous means that it’s cheaper. Lyft may be less expensive, so it makes sense to download both apps and compare prices before requesting a ride.
Taxi app Uber is taking its biggest steps yet towards a driver-free world, launching the Uber Uber anywhere becomes cheaper than owning a vehicle. are free to come and go as they wish
